The Roger Dennis Studio Painters present their second group exhibition at Harbour House.
Featuring work carried out over the past two years, the exhibition shows work representing each of the members,
and also gives an indication of the overall themes studied by the group, which meets weekly at Roger's Chudleigh workshop.
The main body of work was carried out in 2010, influenced by and in response to the work of Ivon Hitchens,
most particularly in terms of composition and the use of space and colour.
While his influence will be more clearly seen in some of the group than others,
the aim has been to respond to what motivated Hitchens rather than imitate his solutions.
Subject matter includes river banks, moorland and trees, and the group has been sketching and painting outdoors
on several Dartmoor locations.
