Routes and Branches is Miranda Benzies' first solo exhibition at Harbour House. This collection of oil paintings represents a celebration of where the artist has come from, and where she is going with her painting, exploring a creative dialogue between her roots in Devon and her life in London. Brought up in a creative household, and inspired to paint by people and places, Miranda produces paintings which tell a story, revealing visions of country and city life. 'Returning to my roots in Devon, Routes and Branches is an exhibition of figurative oil paintings including portraiture, landscape and still life, culminating in a surrealist painting, Mother Nature, which is a synthesis of these genres. The show is a celebration of where I have come from, and an exploration of the different avenues I am taking with painting.'
