10am - 4pm

A diverse exhibition of paintings in oils, watercolours and acrylics, and mixed media textiles panels.

Subjects include still life, landscape and fantasy, with an emphasis on strong portraiture work inspired by Julie's recent studies with Richard Teasdale, and oil paintings worked up in the studio from vigorous watercolour and pastel sketches made on walks along the blustery coast path.

Julie's interests lie across a broad range of arts: graphic design, creative embroidery, and oil painting inspired by the old masters.

She is committed to a regular life drawing practice, from which she has developed a process of stitching the essence of her drawing into silk, and embellishing with colour, collage and embroidery.

Julie's work has recently been shown at a number of local National Trust properties, and at Birdwood House in Totnes.
