Designated a protected landscape and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty by the government in 1960, South Devon is recognised as one of Britain's finest landscapes.

Amateur photographers have been invited to enter a competition showing why they think the area is special, and the exhibition will include the winners and runners-up, alongside an extensive selection of images from the organisation's archive, including photographs showing how the area looked before designation.

The competition is divided into sections, with separate categories for young people. Finalists have now been selected from more than 300 entries, and the winners will be chosen by public voting on the competition website until 16 June www.sdaonb-comp.org.uk
