Performance Workshop for Singers/Instrumentalists

Would you like to perform in public but your nerves get the better of you? Would you like to improve your performance skills? Have you had little/no experience of performing in public, or some experience and wish to extend your performance skills? If so, come and join Mahrey and Phil Berthoud for an unpressurised, friendly and fun weekend workshop.

During the weekend, we will be looking at:
• Preparation/Warming up
• Nerves and how to manage them
• Stage presence/Connecting with your audience
• Speaking – introducing yourself and your material
• Choosing the right material (level of difficulty)
• Dealing with mistakes/awkward audiences!


Using:
• Fun Exercises
• Small Group Work
• Visualisation
• Breathing and warm-up techniques
• Video feedback (for those who wish!)


Participants will be encouraged (but not forced!) to perform and receive useful constructive feedback. We’ll finish with an informal performance to which friends and family may be invited.

Mahrey and Phil have many years’ experience teaching music and helping develop students’ performance skills through workshops, organised concerts and open mics.
