with Michelle Levi

10.30am—4.30pm

Cost: £25

The path of Yoga may ultimately lead us to self-realization, however it is also a goal-less path, with every moment being just as important as the next. With yoga we can learn to enjoy each moment: the rough and the smooth.

This day will be open to all, beginners and the more experienced alike, with the emphasis on enjoying the practice of yoga!

Restorative Yoga with Jo Finlay (BWY Dip)

Saturday 4 October 2008

10.00am—4.00pm

Cost: £27

Restorative Yoga is also known as 'active relaxation', and is a supported form of asana practice done in a comfortable and nurturing environment.  It is a simple but profoundly effective antidote to the effects of chronic stress including backache, headache, fatigue, insomnia and indigestion. Each session encourages the spine to move in all directions while at the same time restoring spent energy back into the vital internal organs.  Sequences can also be adapted to work on specific areas such as the lungs, lower back, neck or legs. Restorative Yoga creates a completely supportive environment for total relaxation physically, psychologically, emotionally and spiritually.

Please bring your own yoga gear, plus three (yes, 3!) thick blankets.

Lunch is available in the vegetarian café or you can bring your own to eat in the courtyard garden.

Hot drinks will be provided.

A deposit of £10 is required by 27th September to secure a place.

Send cheques to Jo Finlay, 14 Hillsview, Braunton, Devon. EX33 2LA

(include SAE for receipt and travel directions)

Jo’s sensitive style of teaching aims to encourage the free flow of breath throughout the whole body. This enhanced awareness helps you to develop well-integrated body movement during your yoga practice which in turn leads to a deeper inner focus.

She qualified as a teacher with B.W.Y in 1987, and for 18 years has been teaching workshops and courses around the south-west and abroad. She continues to study and train with different international teachers including Dr. R. Svoboda, Philip Xerri, Judith Hanson Lasater, Donna Farhi and Eric Stewart.
