Daily Schedule
7.00 stretch and pranayama
9.00 meditation with lead in teaching
10.45 hathayoga
Afternoon; walk, free time or optional water colour painting

5.00 meditation, sitting/walking with teaching, or more yoga
Evening; Meditation, slide-show, walking or free time.


First day, arrive about 4.15 pm, first session (hathayoga) 4.45pm

Last day, depart after Sunday Lunch. If staying on for extra day, leave by 5.00 pm

These are deep yoga retreats offering a chance to disentangle from ordinary daily life’s grip,
as we experience healing from our innate natural life force stimulated by the natural forces of Dartmoor.

Jo holds a BWY diploma and has trained with senior teachers in several traditions.
She has evolved a retreat style that energises, uplifts and brings us to the quiet place within .

Possible to stay for an extra day to let the grace of Yoga simmer on, with more painting, being quiet,
a longer Dartmoor Walk ,– or more yoga.


Both retreats only 10 people. Delicious vegetarian meals.
Hathayoga, strong - gentle, suitable for normally fit yogis, pranayama, meditation with lead-in teaching,
optional water-colour painting.

Joanna Pelly, Bala Brook, South Brent, Devon TQ10 9ED mentioning any medical condition or special dietary need. This place, previously Zeal cottage, is now renamed Bala Brook.

'Bala' is the name of the brook that pours down the edge of the property into the Avon, in Celtic it means stream of water. In Sanskrit, it refers to the energy and vigour required for yoga-meditation spiritual evolvement.
