Everyone dreams. Everyone imagines. Both provide important examples of how the unconscious psyche ‘communicates’ with the conscious personality. Unless these communications are understood their often precious contents are lost.

To avoid this, it is sometimes necessary to translate the symbols and experiences of dreams and imagination into more familiar, everyday language, forms or images. This is a creative process that can lead to deeper understanding and the enrichment of life. For this it is helpful to know about symbolism. Symbols and images are the language of the unconscious psyche.

When the unconscious has something important to communicate we might want to hear. This talk provides an introduction into how to be receptive to the material that comes from the unconscious so we may learn what it can tell us. It also addresses the question of how to develop a more conscious relationship with the unconscious psyche.

Jonathan Parker is a classically trained Jungian analyst with a practice in South Devon.
